Utah Camping Trip

The weekend after Jeff''s parents left, we packed up everything we owned and went to Utah for the annual family camping trip. The drive over went better than expected; in fact, we arrived a day early. We slept in a tent, but thankfully, my parents' fifth-wheel trailer was there too.

Here's lunch at our campsite

The boys really got into whittling this year

Jack Camping

Jack did great camping this year, but it was a bit tough too. He's really crawling and standing up, so he was frustrated by not being able to move around like he wanted. We brought along this giant tarp to give him some freedom, which worked really well for him and as a staging area to change wet clothes, etc. too.

Jack's appetite never waned. He didn't let the cold....

or hot temperatures slow him down whatsoever!

He let everybody hold him, which was nice for us! He loves his pacifier!
He especially loved laying on the couch in grandma's trailer and looking out at the trees.

Adele Camping

Adele loves everything about the outdoors, especially dirt and water. She loves camping. She loves getting dirty, she loves being around everyone, and she loved sleeping in her sleeping bag in the tent. Her only downfall is that she won't stop long enough to eat. The combination of heat, not eating, and excessive playing turned her into human wreckage on this trip more than once. However, I don't think it bothered her as much as it did us!

Jeff gave her a bath in one of our rubbermaid containers. Here she's "sharing" her Chinese longhorn beetle in her bug viewer with my aunt and uncle...
...and with Jack.

Looks like it was time to go home!

What a marvelous gathering. Adele's hat is absolutely fabulous; she wears it very well.
