Family Potluck and Campfire Sing-a-long

One of the traditions of the big family reunion camping trip is a potluck dinner and campfire sing-a-long on Friday night. We all end up camping in different sites around the campground, so this is a great way to get everyone together in one place.

Here we all are before dinner

The Football Game

One of the highlights for Adele at the family camping trip was her first football game. Here she is warming up before the big game

And here she is in the thick of it

She got mowed over a couple of times. The first time, she just got up and kept going. The second time took a little bit more TLC, but she still got back in there!

New Adventures

While on our camping trip, Adele got to try out some new things. She pretty much commandeered this 3-wheeled scooter belonging to her little 4-year old cousin (technically, the grandson of my first cousin). He was a great sport about it and just let her have it.
DOH!
She also got to wade in the stream with lots of other cousins (again, technically, they are the grandkids of another of one my first cousins) and with daddy. Adele is in the hat.

My mom is the youngest of 8 kids, so the age spread amongst our family is pretty wide. That coupled with the fact that, yes, we are older parents, pretty much means that most of the kids that are Adele's age are the grandkids of my first cousins.

Utah Camping Trip

We packed up the car and part of my parents' 5th wheel and headed to Utah for the annual family reunion camping trip in July. I really didn't know how it would all go. The three of us slept in a tent, but we also had access to the 5th wheel trailer, which made all the difference. It allowed "containment" of Adele, even for 5-10 minutes, and that was certainly much appreciated.

We all had a great time.

Next door to us was the campsite of my aunt and uncle. My mom and her sister ALWAYS camp in the same campsites. I can't imagine camping anywhere else in this campground!
