A Day in the Life

A couple of weeks ago, I followed Adele around with a camera all day. It was snowing out, which made for some better lighting in the house and Adele was just in a great mood that day. I think I ended up with about 150 images!

Thanksgiving, a.k.a the best day of Adele's life

Thanksgiving was the best day of Adele's life. She loved every second of being around her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. At the end of the night, she was just hanging out with her cousins in the basement watching them play games with the wii and kicking back on a bean bag chair. She loved her turkey dinner too!

And then there was the big football game. No, Adele didn't get to play, but maybe next year!

First Steps

I was skeptical when Jeff announced that he was going to get Adele's first steps on video, but guess what....he did it! I wasn't there when this happened, but I've watched it so many times I feel like I was!



Adele just loves to dance. It's contagious. When she gets going, we all wanna dance!

The Big Event: Adele Turns 1 !!

I can't believe it, but Adele turned 1 on November 1st. Was it really a year ago that we welcomed her into our life? Wow. I could get all sentimental here, but I guess we all pretty much know that time goes by too fast, so I'll spare you.

We invited family and some friends over to celebrate.

Her cousins helped her open her gifts. She mostly liked the ribbons and bows!


Adele just loved having an audience watch her devour her birthday cake. She absolutely loved the cake too.

Adele wasn't the only one enjoying her new toys. I'm pretty sure that Carter wants to be a baby too.

Grandpa and Grandma Visit

Jeff's parents drove out from Cleveland to spend some time with Adele. She loved playing with grandma (see below) and enjoyed all the extra attention. Come back soon!

She really loves books these days. We spend a lot of time looking at books and reading them. It almost looks like she knows the words in this picture! We also have a futon on the floor in our living room. We have so much fun playing on it. Adele loves to stand up next to it and then fall face first into it. She'll do it over and over and over......



We had the microwave on the floor one afternoon because Jeff had to caulk the countertops. Who knew that the microwave was such a fun toy. She especially liked beating on it like a drum.



Adele loves to try and put her sunglasses on. Unfortunately, we can't get her to wear them outside anymore.

All we do is hike

Well, maybe now it is confirmed: all we do is hike! Our friend Josh and his dog Zeke came to visit in early October. Josh took a bunch of pictures of our hike. The colors were at their peak. I thought I would share.

Adele was in her new snowsuit. We got rained on during the second half of the hike, but it didn't seem to bother her; she fell asleep!

A nice visit with family

I can't believe how far behind I am with the blog. I have been sooooo busy. I know, from the blog it looks like all I do is hike.....but I figure no one wants to see me grocery shopping or moving my office for the second time in 6 months!

Anyway, As mentioned in another post, Jeff's brother Todd and his girlfriend Jackie came to visit in September. We had a wonderful weekend with them. We went on a hike from the house and ended up with some lovely pictures.



We didn't want them to be bored with just us, so we invited my whole family up for a cookout. Here is Adele with her cousins. They all think that she is so novel!

Me and My Monkey

Jeff's brother Todd and his girlfriend Jackie came to visit in September. They brought Adele her now most favorite toy: a stuffed monkey. She loves the monkey and did immediately. I'm happy that she now has a special toy that she sleeps with. The monkey is cute too. And the good news? I already know that I can get more at amazon.com if she develops a toy dependency!




Watching her carry around the stuffed monkey in her mouth is hilarious. I wish you all could see it in person!

They also brought her a bunch of ADORABLE clothes, like this little pink vest. Is it wrong to be jealous of my daughter's new pink vest?
