October

October was an interesting month. We had lots of winter weather including a big snowstorm complete with 3 1/2 feet of snow. Oh yeah, and then there was that other thing.....a new member of our family!

Adele really seems to like Jack. She had a few moments of jealousy right at the beginning, but those quickly gave way to a strong desire to know where Jack is at all times and what he is doing. She also wants to help feed him bottles and show him off to her classmates at daycare.

We had a lot of snow in October, which was great for Adele. She loves eating snow!

Adele just would not or could not go to sleep one afternoon so we finally gave up and brought her back downstairs. I was making dinner and came to check on her around 5:00 only to find her SOUNDLY sleeping on her bean bag chair. Awwww.

Just a cute picture. She has her entire menagerie there with her: pink blankie, monkey, bear, and cookie monster, also known as "Gatches" We don't know why he is known as Gatches; he just is.

Playdates

Soon after Jack was born, we had two playdates with friends. Luckily for us, they were all willing to com up to our house.

Dani brought her twins up on a snowy morning and the three girls had a lot of fun. The twins are about 6 weeks older than Adele.

Jack joined the party too and then fell asleep in my lap!
Synte, her mother, and her two kids, Zoe and Cameron came up on another Saturday. Zoe and Adele are only 10 days apart. They were fascinated with Adele's toys and Adele was fascinated with their dog!

Happy Birthday Jack!

Jack is one month old today. Happy Birthday Jack! He's already gained about 3 pounds since we left the hospital and I think he might be starting to get chubby cheeks.

Here's Adele with Jack:

At the Hospital

We were at the hospital from Thursday through Sunday and during that time we had a chance to enjoy some time with friends and family.

Jack was delivered by c-section. Here he is at just a few minutes old. You can see the excellent surgeons in the background.

Grandma and Grandpa with Jack
Aunt Diana and Quentin
Lots of good friends!

August and September

It looks like we did lots of "artsy" stuff at the end of the summer with some face painting thrown in!

Adele the "punk"! This is the only way she'll wear a baseball cap by the way and we didn't show her this either!

Back in time...Birthday Party

We skipped a lot of good stuff to announce Jack's birth, so time to go back in time and catch up, starting with my niece's birthday party in August. It was perfect weather and there was a very talented clown/magician/face painter there.

Here is the birthday girl getting her face painted and the final product

The kids were enjoying the beautiful evening at my brother's house. Adele is sitting on her cousin's lap about to freak out about the little boy's green face!

And finally, here is my dad getting his face painted. I wish I had a better picture; it was really a work of art!
