Easter 2009

I know, I'm two months behind. I have a good reason......as you probably know, we're expecting a boy in September. Let's just say that going to work and doing laundry was about all I could handle for a while there. But, I'm back in blogging action, so stand back.

Adele enjoyed her Easter basket. She has her first chocolate bunny in her hand in the top picture. The scary thing is that she knew just what to do: she pulled the foil off and bit off his head. I guess some things, like biting the heads off chocolate bunnies, are just coded into our DNA.

Here are the pictures from Easter brunch. I had visions of Adele in a floral Easter dress enjoying spring on the front range and rolling around in the grass....something we don't have here. The weather did not cooperate with my vision, but it certainly didn't put a damper on our celebration at all. We had a lovely time.

Here we all are watching the kids go after their Easter baskets from grandparents and honorary grandparents.

Adele Live!

Here are a few recent videos of Adele. The first one is the best, it is her begging to be picked up, and then realizing that she can pull the camera strap. You see this little glint in her eye and then poor daddy is caught.

Here she is running around screaming, laughing, and chasing the cat. Just a few of her favorite things!

And, riding her bounce and spin zebra

Adele in March

We decided to put Adele in a 6-week swimming class and here we are at our first lesson. Adele had never been in a swimming pool before, which is a shame considering this lovely facility is about 7 minutes from our house. We'll try to do better! The one little boy that she adores from daycare, Max, also happened to be in the class, so that added to the excitement. At one point, they just sat looking at each other screaming with excitement and shattering the eardrums of anyone in the pool. It was hilarious.

Adele is changing so much all the time. She's a full-blown toddler at this point. She hardly ever walks anywhere electing instead to run. She uses a new word almost every day and the funnest thing is that she has started singing. She sings as she plays, when she's going to sleep, in the tub....just about everywhere. Some of her favorite new words include: birds, slide, hot, and whoa. You can just see a language explosion on the horizon. We can't wait!

A fun visit!

Dean and Cheryl came to Colorado for a ski trip and to visit their niece Adele. It took her about 5 minutes to warm up to them at which point she was running and screaming and just having a fantastic time entertaining us all. I think our sides hurt from laughing so hard at her antics!

It was a nice evening, so a happy hour hike seemed in order.
