Putting grandparents to work

My parents came up to see Adele last weekend and well, we put them to work. Here Jeff and my dad are sheathing our fireplace. All of this will be covered by rock someday.

More Grandparents!!

So why suddenly are there all these posts after a two week break? One word: GRANDPARENTS!

Jeff's parents came from Cleveland for the weekend to visit Adele...and I suppose us too. It has been a wonderful visit. Just like with her other grandparents, she recognized them immediately. She cooed and carried on with Jeff's dad. We had never seen the likes of that before!

Caught a smile on camera
Here we are getting rid of a bad case of the hiccups with "gripewater" I don't know why it works to get rid of hiccups, I only know it does!

More family fun: House projects!

As mentioned in an earlier post, Jeff's parents are in town this weekend. Jeff and Don have been working on the chinking in the master bedroom suite. This is a lot harder than it looks. Anytime I have tried it, it looks like a two-year old did the job. Don is a natural.

Adele's First Christmas Tree

It's a good thing that Adele can't see all that well, because her first Christmas tree is a bit like the Charlie Brown Christmas tree...it takes a certain person to like it.

Jeff's parents are in town this weekend and one of our goals was to get a Christmas tree. We headed out into the yard to see what we could find. We always look for trees that are growing too close together and need to be "thinned" Of course, that usually means that one side doesn't have a lot of branches, but oh well.

Here Jeff spots a candidate for our Christmas Tree

Here is Jeff's dad, Don.

Cutting down the tree. We will cut off the top to use.

Bringing it home.

What is she doing?

We spend a lot of time trying to get a very wakeful Adele to go to sleep when she has been up too long. Often times we're just sure she must be falling asleep, but nope, she's fighting sleep with all she's got and her eyes are wide open.

Here Jeff wanted to know "What is she doing?" so I took a picture to show him......not sleeping!

Grandparents

On Friday December 7th, my parents came up to spend the day. Adele seemed to know them immediately and settled right into the business of being adorable and cute. She just melted right into them. It was a very relaxing way to spend the day. She just started smiling a couple days before, so that was very rewarding!

Under that pink blanket is a baby!

Baby Entertainment

These pictures was from December 2nd. It's kind of hard to figure out what exactly you should do with a newborn. She isn't interested in mobiles or toys at this time. So, I decided to give her a massage with some very nice infant massage oil that someone gave us. I think she liked it. I'm sure that her skin liked it in our dry climate.

Here are more pictures from that day.

She loves her daddy!
